Acceptance

By accessing or using BeforeTheyWatch ("BTW," "we," or "us"), you agree to the final version of these Terms once published. Until then, your use of the service is provided on an informal, best-effort basis.

The Service

BTW provides content safety ratings and parental guidance information for movies, TV shows, games, and music. Ratings are informational and intended to help viewers decide what to watch, play, or listen to.

Eligibility and Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.

User-Generated Content

You retain ownership of ratings, reviews, and other content you submit. By submitting content you grant BTW a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display and distribute it on the service. Final license terms pending review.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Scrape, copy, or republish our content without permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the service or its infrastructure
  • Attempt to access accounts or data that are not yours
  • Use the service for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
  • Harass other users or post unlawful content

Intellectual Property

All BTW branding, code, and original editorial content are the property of BeforeTheyWatch. Third-party metadata such as titles, descriptions, and poster art belongs to its respective owners. BTW is not affiliated with the studios, networks, publishers, or labels behind the works we rate.

Disclaimers

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Ratings and recommendations are guidance only and reflect editorial judgement, not a guarantee of suitability for any particular viewer. They are not a substitute for a parent’s or guardian’s own judgment.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BTW shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Final scope and carve-outs pending legal review.

Governing Law

Jurisdiction and choice-of-law clauses are pending final entity formation and will be added when these Terms are finalized.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and revising the "Last updated" date.
